This is a branch of dentistry that deals with the treatment of defects in the development of teeth and maxillofacial skeleton. Due to the unevenness of the teeth and disorders of the dentition, the teeth are difficult to hygienic procedures, are more at risk of early caries, and can cause additional stress on the maxillofacial muscles when chewing, which in turn leads to headaches, syndrome temporomandibular joint (TMJ), pain in the neck, shoulder joint and back. Tooth bumps and dentition can also negatively affect your appearance.

Improper occlusion often leads to periodontal disease, prevents the proper chewing of food, which leads to disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and poor health. If the bite is incorrect, then some teeth are underloaded, others are overloaded. Both are harmful to teeth.

With age, the curvature of the teeth complicates oral hygiene, which leads to inflammatory processes in the gums, causes dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint.

Orthodontic treatment can also be a preparatory step, such as before veneering or tooth restoration.
Bracket – System

Bracket treatment is required if you have such problems:

  • crooked teeth
  • gaps between teeth
  • congestion of teeth
  • protruding teeth
  • deep bite
  • open bite
  • difficulty chewing food

. When can braces be installed?

There are no age restrictions when planning orthodontic treatment. The patient’s age is important when choosing treatment methods. From the age of 11-12, braces are used to correct the bite and curvature of the teeth.

It is impossible to correct the bite only under one condition – if the patient has no teeth.

There is a wide choice of bracket systems: metal, sapphire, ceramic, etc. If you are not satisfied with the appearance of metal locks, you can choose crystal-clear sapphire brackets or ceramic braces in the color of teeth, as well as combined options.

In our clinic it is possible to put brackets of the following types:

  • Metal braces are the most popular. Made of special steel. They are small, comfortable and give great results.
  • Ceramic braces are made of high quality ceramics. They have excellent aesthetic properties, which is very convenient if you want your braces to be as inconspicuous as possible.
  • Sapphire braces are made of artificial medical sapphire. They look like slit and colorless crystals that are completely invisible on the teeth. And to attract even less attention, you can paint the arc in the color of tooth enamel.
  • Lingual braces are a special orthodontic appliance that cannot be removed under normal conditions. Sometimes it is advisable to use lingual braces together with vestibular ones (they are glued on the outside of the teeth and visible to others) – this gives an additional effect and speeds up the process of teeth alignment. When using modern multi-bonding systems (bracket systems) bite correction takes place in conditions of maximum comfort.

Prevention of the formation of dental anomalies

The main reason for the development of occlusal deformity is the premature removal of deciduous teeth. The beginning of the permanent tooth is still far away and the vacated space may be partially occupied by neighboring deciduous teeth due to their displacement. To protect your child, it is necessary to massage the gums during teething, eliminate bad habits such as – sucking fingers,
pacifiers, handles, improper swallowing. And, of course – properly treat tooth decay. If you still had to resort to premature removal of the baby tooth, you can prevent occlusion defects with the help of replacement therapy. A special plate with an artificial tooth is made for this purpose.
