Veneers are thin but very strong plates that attach to the front of the tooth and instantly transform it. For installation it is necessary to grind a tooth in advance.
Before installing veneers, it is necessary to cure teeth, remove caries, eliminate gingivitis, remove plaque and tartar.
Veneers have the following indications for use as:
- unevenly growing tooth;
- defects – chips and cracks on the tooth surface (acquired or congenital);
- curvature of the tooth shape;
- darkening and stains on the enamel;
- yellow tint of enamel caused by smoking, excessive consumption of tea and coffee;
- the shape of the lateral teeth, resembling blades;
- gaps and crevices between teeth.
- Aging restorations.
However, ceramic veneers have many advantages:
- have a luxurious glossy shine, as in beautiful photos;
- able to retain their color for a very long time – usually for the entire period of their use (not painted under the influence of coffee, wine, juice and other dyes);
- have a long service life – about 10-15 years (at the same time, composite veneers can last from 4 to 7 years);
• are biologically compatible due to their physical properties, which makes them close to the functions of enamel and dentin.
